Season for Everest Gokyo and Cho-LaPass Trekking:

Itinerary

Everest base camp and with Gokyo and Cho-la pass trekking is an adventure of Life lifetime.


  1. Day 1

    On arrival in Kathmandu meet our staff for transfer to hotel.

    On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport warmly received by our guide and staff and then transfer you to your respective hotels in the hub of Kathmandu within Thamel, the happening and exciting place of the city.

    After checking into your rooms getting refreshed from Jet-Lag, a quiet environment after getting refreshed join at main hall or in lobby where our guide will provide briefing on treks-hotels with necessary information.

    Evening includes group dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant with folk culture program with various dances of Nepal while having your authentic Nepalese dinner with local entertainment.

  2. Day 2

    Fly to Lukla 2,820 m (30 mins flights) trek to Phakding 2,640 m - 03 hrs

    Early morning transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport for short scenic flight to Lukla, the door to many adventures around Khumbu region, where walk starts on gradual winding path past several Sherpa farm villages with views of Kongde and Kusum-Khanguru to reach at Phakding, for overnight stop located by the Dudh Kosi Rivers.

  3. Day 3

    Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m - 06 hrs.

    Walk today takes you to famous Namche Bazaar where altitude gains as walk progress, morning starts following Dudh Kosi River and crossing several times to reach at Monjo village near Sagarmatha National Park entrance, from here walking on river valley and gorge covered within nice woodland of tall rhododendron-pines and fir trees.

    After crossing the last high bridge where few hours climb reaches you at Namche Bazaar facing views of Everest-Lhotse and Kongde peaks, Namche Bazaar at an altitude 4,440 m high a perfect spot for rest day for acclimatization against high altitude, Namche a main town / village of Khumbu areas, where colorful and exciting Saturday market takes place once a week.

  4. Day 4

    Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion.

    Rest day for acclimatization before heading higher terrain, morning after breakfast with options for hike to Everest View Hotel or walk on top of Namche, where you can catch super landscapes scenery with Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Amadablam with series of high peaks, here enjoy visiting National Park Museum provides you wide information of Khumbu region, Sherpa history-culture-flora and fauna including detail on mountaineering

  5. Day 5

    Trek to Khumjung 3,653 m via Khunde village 3,880 m - 04 hrs.

    At Namche Bazaar after a pleasant overnight stop walk uphill from Namche to reach a hill top, as route diverts with climb to Syangboche, a small settlement with an old airstrip.

    Enjoy grand views of mountains as route leads on gradual ups and down to reach at Khunde village, here visit its small hospital built and run by Hillary and his Foundation.

    After interesting tour slow descends to overnight stop at Khumjung, one of largest village of Khumbu area after Namche Bazaar, Khunde and Khumjung villages located on a wide and scenic glacial valley at the bottom of holy Mt. Khumbila the patron god of Khumbu Sherpa.

    At Khumjung visit the area oldest monastery, where you get a glimpse of Yeti scalp kept safe and secure in a glass box where visitors can have a look with donations for monastery welfare.

  6. Day 6

    Trek to Dole 4,110 m - 06 hrs.

    From Khumjung walk leads on gradual scenic path with uphill to reach at Mong

    Hill with few houses serving as Tea-House and Lodge with fantastic views of

    peaks, from here downhill to Phorse-Tenga near Dudh Kosi within forested area a

    peaceful spot with nice houses serving as good lodge on route to Gokyo Lake.

     

    After possible lunch stop walk leads to slow climb into rhododendron, pines, fir

    forest with views of snowcapped peaks, after few hour climb reaching at Dole a

    moderate size settlement with good lodges for overnight stay.

  7. Day 7

    Trek to Machherma 4,465 m - 04 hrs.

    After Dole climb for short while then on gradual high trail for an hour to Lhabarma Kharka at 4,325 m and Luza at 4,390m; and then skirting around a ridge with views of Machherma, situated below on a small valley, then downhill to Machherma for overnight stop.

  8. Day 8

    Trek to Gokyo Lake 4,800 m - 04 hrs.

    Morning walk leads to main Gokyo Lake following scenic trail to Pangka 4,545m, and then climb to a rocky path around ablation valley as walk leads to first lake and then past second lakes.

    After an hour reaching at third main lake also known as Dudh Pokhari or Gokyo Lake, this beautiful place located within high mountains and valley at 4,800 m high, after lunch take a short walk around the lake facing views of Mt. Cho Oyo world’s 06th highest with Gyachung Kang reflecting on emerald colored Gokyo Lake.

  9. Day 9

    Hike to Gokyo-Ri 5,483 m and walk to Thagnak 4,750 m -04 hrs.

    Morning at Gokyo within its beautiful glacial lakes, where early climb lead to some hours to reach on top Gokyo Ri view point located at 5,357 m high, offers super panorama from Mt. Cho-Oyu, Mt. Everest, Lhotse and Mt. Makalu covering four world highest mountains at one glance includes range of lesser peaks.

    After enjoying views of grand peaks with massive Ngozumba Glacier and then down to Gokyo for lunch and with short walk of few hours to at the end of Gokyo valley for overnight stop at Thangnak beneath Cho-la pass.

  10. Day 10

    Cross Cho-la Pass 5,367 to Dzongla 4,680 m - 07 hrs.

    Start at break of dawn for long climb to reach on top Cho-la pass (Tsho-la), climb

    for few hours over rocky moraine and on snow and ice some places to reach on

    top Cho-la pass, enclosed by peaks of Cholatse, Nirekha and Taboche, after a hard

    climb traverse leads to a descend to a small valley at Dzong-la for overnight halt

  11. Day 11

    Trek to Lobuche 4,890 m - 05 hrs.

    From Dzongla morning walk leads with gentle up to reach on nice main path of Everest to reach at Lobuche for overnight facing views of Nuptse and Lobuche peaks.

  12. Day 12

    Trek to Everest Base Camp 5,364 m and at Gorakshep 5,180 m - 06 hrs.

    Today walk to our final destinations at Everest Base Camp, morning walk on an open wide valley with slow climb to reach above Khumbu glaciers, walking past moraine dunes to reach at Gorakshep, a place with few lodges on the junction of Everest base camp and Kalapatthar route.

    Gorakshep an old Everest base camp during 1950’s to late 1970’s before route extended further at about 4 to 6 k.m., from Gorakshep few hours walk over moraine and glacier to reach our ultimate destination at base camp with sweeping views of giant peaks of Nuptse-Lo la, Nuptse with notorious huge Khumbu Ice Falls and glaciers.

    In high mountaineering season this place will be active with climbers and crews with many camps set on top of moraine and glaciers.

    After a grand time then head back to Gorakshep for highest overnight stop of the adventure with fantastic walks of the day visiting Everest base camp.

  13. Day 13

    Hike to Kalapatthar 5,545 m walk to Pangboche 3,900 m- 06 hrs.

    Morning climb up to Kalapatthar located above 5,545 m, highest point of the adventure rewards you with incredible mountain panorama with Everest at close within stone throw distance.

    Enjoy grand views descend to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue trek downhill past Lobuche and Thugla, where walk leads to windy Pheriche valley and then with short climb to a ridge with long descend to Pangboche village for overnight stop.

  14. Day 14

    Trek to Namche Bazaar - 06 hrs.

    Walk from Pangboche descends to Imjatse River and then climb to Thyangboche Monastery back into green vegetation and tree lines, with time here to enjoy scenic views of mountains with Everest and majestic Amadablam, as well visit its interesting monastery.

    After Thyangboche downhill to Phunki Tenga with climb for an hour to reach small place at Kyanjinma and the continue walk for short hours to reach at Namche for overnight stop.

  15. Day 15

    Trek to Lukla - 06 hrs.

    Morning enjoy last day walk of this fabulous adventure as route lead on same scenic trail back at Phakding, and then on pleasant trail of few short ups and down reaching at Choplung village, where an hour climb reaches you at Lukla for final overnight stop around high Khumbu and Everest area.

    In Lukla celebrate last night dinner among fellow trekkers, guides and porters after a fantastic time on Everest Gokyo and Cho-la pass trekking.

  16. Day 16

    Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to your hotels

    Morning transfer to Luka airport named after Tenzing-Hillary, an honor and tribute to late legendry mountaineers who conquered Mt. Everest in May 29th 1953.

    Then board in a aircraft for scenic 35 minutes flight to reach back into hustle and bustle city life of Kathmandu, then transfer to your respective hotels with afternoon free at leisure.

  17. Day 17

    In Kathmandu spare and contingency day

    Reserve this spare day as contingency in case of flight delay which might lead to cancellation in bad and unfavorable weather conditions in Lukla at the end or in the beginning, this free day one can spend for your own individual activities.

  18. Day 18

    International Departure homeward bound.

    Enjoying magnificent adventure around Nepal Himalaya on Everest-Gokyo valley

    and Cho-la pass trekking, depart from the hotel to Kathmandu international

    airport for your onward flight back to home or to next port of call.
