Helambu Trekking is a real trip to learn Sherpa culture. Helambu is the land of Sherpa village where you can see many monastery and ethnic groups and a panoramic view of the mountain between Annapurna to Mt. Everest. The course is varied- you encounter Lamas and see Gompas (monasteries), Chorten (Stupas), and Mani stone (Prayer walls). Most of the ethnic groups believe in Buddhism. If you are in there in wintertime you will see their great festival call Lothar.
Helambu Trekking start from Kathmandu and end here too. early morning bus ride to Sundarijal. Trek to Chisapani Danda, then Chisopani to Kutumsang . trek continue to Tharepati, Melamche Gaon then to Tarke Ghyang Through the jungle, village and cross the bridge, visit monasteries and some village on the way. last part of the trip is Shermathang to Melamched pul then back to Kathmandu.

A typical day at this trip:
After breakfast at the camp ascending walk approximately for 3hrs. and arrive at Mangegot. Lunch served. Continue ascending walk to Danda Kharka across jungle. Rhododendron flowers are particularly. Witnessed during Febv. To April. Mountains e.g. Langtang; Jugal; Droje Lakpa Nambru and Gauri Shanker are witnessed. No inhabitants are found at this place.
Trek goes mostly all the way down to Melamche Goan, descending walk across the jungle and Melamche stream for 3 hrs. At Melamche Gaon, there is a big village near to the jungle and also a monastery where the camp is set

- Day 1

Kathmandu to Chisopani (7500 ft.)
Transfer to Sundarijal. After walk of approximately one hour lunch served beside the lake. Trek for approximately 6 hrs. Arrive at Chisapani Danda. Othetr trekking routes e.g. Helambu, Langtang, Gosainkunda are also connected at this place. Dinner and overnight at tented camp. (Approx.- 7 hrs.)
- Day 2

Chisopani to Kutumsang (7700 ft.)
Breakfast at the camp. Walk for approximately 3 hours arrive Gul Bhanjyang. Here is a small Tamang village. Lunch served. After approximately 3 hours walk arrive at Kutumasang. Sherpes and Tamangs are found inhabited at a village here. Dinner and overnight at tended camp. (Approx. 6 hrs).

Chisopani to Tharepati (9700ft.)
After breakfast at the camp ascending walk approximately for 3hrs. and arrive at Mangegot. Lunch served. Continue ascending walk to Danda Kharka across jungle. Rhododendron flowers are particularly. Tharepati to Melamche Gaon (7900ft.)
After Breakfast at the camp, trek all the way down to Melamche Goan, descending walk across the jungle and Melamche stream for 3 hrs. At Melamche Gaon, there is a big village near to the jungle and also a monastery where the camp is set. Dinner and overnight at tented camp.

Melamche Gaon to Tarke Ghyang (8000 ft.)
After breakfast descending walk of approx. 2 hrs. Through the jungle, village and cross the bridge. Lunch served. Continue walk ascending for Tarkeghyang for approximately 3 hrs. There are two monasteries and some village on the way. Dinner and overnight at tented camp. (Approx. 5 hrs.)

Tarke Ghyang to Shermathang (8600 ft.)
After breakfast walk for approx. 2.30 hrs. Through the jungle and arrive at Shermathang. Lunch served. Continue walk for approx. 3 hrs. There is a big monastery at this place. Dinner and overnight at tented camp. (Approx. 5.30 hrs.)

Shermathang to Melamched pul (2775 ft.)
After breakfast easy walk approx. for 3 hrs. and arrive Kakani witnessing Jugal Himal, Gauri Shankar, Panch Pokhari and Gosainkunda peaks. Lunch served. Continue walk descending to Melamache crossing Indrawati Bridge through the village for approx. 3 hrs. Dinner and overnight at tented camp.
