Pokhara Hot Air Balloon

Background:
Nepal offers a lot of recreational activities in Nepal which can be enjoyed by a wide range of people. From trekking to rafting, the country has gained fame for various adventure-related activities. Among such is a hot air balloon, which is operated in Pokhara. These balloon rides provide excellent aerial views of the landscape and are suitable for anyone. You don’t need to have specific skills to enjoy this activity so many people favor it. To enjoy this balloon ride, the weather should be favorable and the balloon should be in good condition. In Nepal, Pokhara is the best city to do the hot air balloon rides because the views are stunning and the weather, as well as geography, is also favorable for it. The ride also offers mesmerizing views of the surrounding landscapes, the entire Pokhara Valley, and the faraway Annapurna Himalayas.

Best tours in Himalaya Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour , Bhutan culture tour and Everest base camp trekking.  Special Nepal Tibet and tour package.

The balloon ride is done twice a day during sunrise and sunset, and you have the option to choose the schedule. It is the perfect time to enjoy the scenic views of the Pokhara Valley. If you opt for the sunrise, you need to wake up at dawn and head to Dhampus. By 6 a.m., you board the balloon and enjoy the sunrise from the balloon. After 15 minutes, you descend to the banks of Phewa Lake and head to the hotel for breakfast. If you choose to see the sunset, you need to reach Dhampus by late afternoon. Around 4:30-5 p.m., you board the balloon and enjoy the sunset with the amazing views of the city and mountains. The boarding time depends on which season you travel to. If you head during summertime, the sunrise and sunset shifts will be a bit later and during winter, the sunset shift will be a bit ahead of the schedule. Additionally, you can also include a tour of the Pokhara Valley to destinations like Mahendra Cave, Davis Falls, Tal Barahi Temple, and International Mountain Museum.

FAQs:
Why do flights take place early in the morning?
The air balloon needs stable winds to operate safely and effectively. Early morning is the best time for stable winds. The visibility will be maximum, and the pilot will be able to choose a launch site and use the wind currents to fly. Also, the pilot will be able to choose the route to ensure a safe flight.

What is the exact location you fly over?
The balloon flies over Pame and Phewa Lake along with some other attractions in the valley. It may be difficult to fly over some areas but if you want to explore other places, you can consult with the operator and our staff. It will also depend on the weather conditions of the scheduled day.

Do I need to bring a jacket?
At higher altitudes, it is colder than ground level. So, it is better to take a jacket with you. If you choose the sunrise ride, you need to wear a jacket as it can get very chilly in the morning. If you are doing it during the winter, you need to bring warm jackets. If you do it in summer, then you need to bring a light jacket/windcheater.

Will I get altitude sickness from this trip?
Generally, people suffer from altitude sickness when they are above 2500 meters. This happens mostly when you are trekking in high altitudes. It depends on the individual but, in general, you don’t suffer from altitude sickness while doing the hot air balloon ride in Pokhara. However, it is better to carry medicines to prevent altitude sickness.
