A Cultural Exploration of Western Bhutan, Our Bhutan tour package takes you along the national highway from the western border to the eastern border of the country, with its beautiful mountain valleys. In this all-embracing cultural exploration of the Dragon Kingdom of Bhutan, we will explore Paro, Thimphu, Punakha, Wangduephodrang and Gangtey in the west; Trongsa and Bumthang in central Bhutan; and Mongar and Trashigang in the east. During our Bhutan tour we will witness the spectacular events which take place in Mongar and Trashigang at the year-end Tshechu festivals. We will hike to the sacred Tiger’s Nest, visit the great stupa of Chorten Kora, and see the legendary and beloved cranes which find sanctuary in Bhutan every autumn. This intricate tapestry of Bhutan tourism adventures offers a richly nuanced experience of the last Himalayan kingdom. Bhutan’s architecture is the best remaining example of an ancient living architecture – from the mighty ancient fortresses to the humble farm house – the stunning and strategic locations of the grand fortresses housing both monks and civil administrations.

Itinerary

Day 1

Paro

In the morning arrive at the International Airport of Paro to experience the majestic Bhutan. After arriving at Paro check into a hotel and thus your enchanting exploration to Bhutan will start now. Discover the charms of magnetic wooden valleys located at the bank of Paro Chi River. Check in a hotel for overnight stay and take your dinner.

Day 2

Paro – Thimphu

This day starts with an uncovering of the capital city of Bhutan, Thimphu. Take your tea from Paro hotel and drive to Thimphu. After driving at least 2 hours you will be getting yourself at Thimphu, check in a hotel there. You will be tempted by Simtokha Dzong on the way. Enjoy the remaining parts of your day by visiting PM Memorial Chorten, Dhurbthop nunnery and the School of Thanka Painting. At night go back to hotel and take dinner properly.

Day 3

At Thimphu

There remain numerous places of Thimphu that needs your calm visit. So after your tea and a little bath, go for exploring the Goldsmith workshop, the National Library, Chamlimithang bazaar and the Handicraft Emporium of Thimphu. After a whole day tour to Thimphu prepare yourself to reach Tongsa. Back to hotel for a cool night halt and dinner.

Day 4

Thimphu- Tongsa

In the early morning start for reaching Tongsa, this will be needed almost eight hours drive from Thimphu. Crossing two high passes, stop at Wangdiphodrang Dzong, gateway to Central Bhutan, and Chendebji Chorten at Tongsa. Check in a hotel at Tongsa for dinner and night rest.

Day 5

Bumthang

This morning start driving to reach at Bumthang, start to explore the Yak wool weaving centre at Chume Valley. Also visit the PM Visit Jambay Lhakhang, Kurje Lhakhang and the Jakar Lam Monastery of Bumthang. Night stay is offered at Bumthang hotel along with a banquet.

Day 6

Camping Jakar -Ngang (274 km)

It will come with a twist when you get yourself at Ngang. After 3 hours drive you will be ready to visit the Kurje Lhakhang, the trek begins with short walk to the village of Thangbi up a fertile valley onto Ngang. Visit the temple at Thangbi that you will get on the way. For night halt you will have to choose one camp near the village.

Day 7

Camping Ngang – Meadow Camp (300 Km)

In the morning after tea at the camp, drive to 300 kms for arriving to another camp named Camping Ngang to Meadow Camp. Make your trekking to the valley into a mixed forest of maple, pine and rhododendron. The trek gets steeper after reaching at Phe Phe La pass at 3550m. Walk for 2 hours to reach at the camp near a steam. Overnight stay is at Camp with a self made dinner

Day 8

Bumthang Meadow Camp – Ugyenchoeling (282 Km)

Enjoy with the magnetisms of Bhutan while trekking Bumthang Meadow Camp to Ugyenchoeling (2820 m). Visit the Tang Rimochen Lhakhang, temporary camp will be there for you in between the two villages as Bumthang Meadow Camp and Ugyenchoeling. Drive for two hours to reach Bumthang to stay at night.

Day 9

Phobjika Valley

There is still another must visited valley as Phobjika Valley that needs your meaningful exploration in the 10th day of your trip. Visit the resplendent 17th century Gangtey Gompa in the noon. At the evening lure with the magnetisms of past golden fields of maize and grazing yaks. Drive back to hotel for night stay. Druk Air, Paro Bhutan

Day 10

Phobjika Valley – Paro Valley

Now the day comes to say goodbye to Bhutan, so at the morning drive to Paro, needs almost 5 hours. Overnight night at Paro hotel and take your dinner there.

Day 11

Paro – Kathmandu or Bangkok or Delhi

Onward Destination In the morning, take a little breakfast and drive to Paro airport to catch the flight and jump to your onward flight.
