The trek to Everest base camp costs 11 to 12 days. Compared to the price of sharing with other 4 people on the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour, the price was almost the same. Thanks to Buddhi for the advice, as I could not have made it to base camp due to my short time in Nepal.

The helicopter to Everest was the best choice, and it was great fun and a most exciting scenic flight. The views of Mt. Everest from Kalapathar base and the 
banquet breakfast at the Everest View Hotel were marvelous.
