Itinerary– Everest BaseCamp via Salleri
Day01: Arrive at Kathmandu
Your trip begins when you land at KathmanduAirport. Here our staff will pick you up and take you to your hotel. You canspend the rest of the day at leisure and later in the day we will provide you abriefing about the trek.
Day02: Drive from Kathmandu to Salleri
After breakfast, begin the drive fromKathmandu in an off-road private vehicle. The scenic drive takes around tenhours along a winding hilly road. We will drive through forests, andsettlements and at the end of the day arrive at Salleri. Stay overnight in aguesthouse or a lodge.
Day03: Trek from Salleri to Taksindu
After a leisurely morning, we begin thefirst day of our trek. The walking duration today is under six hours with lunchand stops along the way. At first we will trek to Phaplu, a village en route toTaksindu. From there we trek for a couple of hours to reach Ringmo and ascendthrough a trail through the thick forests. Take a break here, and continue onto reach Taksindu at 2,500 meters, where we will stop for the night.
Day04: Trek from Taksindu to Khari Khola
In the morning visit the Taksindu Monasterybefore heading off. First we will descend through a forest, rivers, andvillages for a couple of hours. Then we will stop for lunch, probably at aplace called Nun Thala. After the break we continue the descent until we arriveat a river. From there our path turns uphill where we will cross some morevillages and arrive at Khari Khola. Khari Khola is at an altitude of 2,140meters where we will stay at a lodge or a guesthouse.
Day05: Trek from Kahri Khola to Puinya
Today we will be reaching Puinya at analtitude of 2,890 meters. The trekking duration is nearly six hours includingshort rests along the way. After breakfast we begin on an ascending trailcrossing several Sherpa villages and forests. Along the way you will see manyterraced farms and stone-houses – typical of a trek in high-altitude. You willnext come across a narrow canyon and before you know it, you have arrived atthe village of Puinya. Stay overnight here is a lodge or a guesthouse.
Day06: Trek from Piunya to Phakding
As yesterday, the trek today is alsoapproximately six hours. We will be reaching the mountain village of Phakdingtoday. Crossing many bridges of the Dudh Koshi river and its streams, we willarrive at Phakding for the overnight stay. Phakding, at 2,650 meters, is aSherpa village with spendid views of the Himalayan peaks. Enjoy the stay atPhakding for the trip is going be more exciting onwards.
Day07: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar
In the morning we will make an early start.The breakfast is going to be quick as we will be traveling to Namche Bazaar,the most prosperous village in Everest. The scenic walk is around seven hoursto Namche. After dinner, you will spend the night in a lodge or a guesthouse.
Day08: Acclimatization at Namche
Take a day of rest at Namche today andenjoy the Sherpa lifestyle. Have a leisurely breakfast amid wonderful views ofHimalayan peaks. Later, visit around town and see the lifestyle of Namche. Donot forget to do a short trek as it will help you adapt to the altitude andprepare you for the journey ahead.
Day09: Trek from Namche to Tengboche
Starting from Namche we first cross a riverand trek across an alpine forest of rhododendron. The trek today isapproximately five hours including lunch time. After lunch we begin our ascentto the village of Tengboche which houses the biggest monastery in the region.At 3,860 meters, stay overnight at Tengboche in a lodge or a guesthouse.
Day10: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche
Starting with a trek across a suspensionbridge over the river Imja, we move on to Dingboche, our destination for today.We will cross the village of Pangboche along the way. Dingboche is a beautifullittle valley with views of Ama Dablam and Lhotse peaks. Stay overnight atDingboche in a guesthouse.
Day11: Acclimatize at Dingboche
You will spend the day at Dingboche. First,start with a leisurely breakfast in a wonderful surrounding. Next, relax as youlike in this environment so that you will regain some of the lost energy andyour body will adapt to the altitude. Do take little hikes around so that yourmuscles are kept fit for the trek ahead. Stay overnight at a lodge orguesthouse.
Day12: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche
After breakfast pack your bags and leaveDingboche. Early on, you will have wonderful views of Island Peak, Lobuche,Nuptse, and Taboche peaks. Further, we cross the often un-noticed Thok-La passbefore arriving at Lobuche for the night. The trekking duration is five hourstoday, bringing you to Lobuche at 4,910 meters.
Day13: Trek from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp to Gorakshep
This is day where you will reach theEverest Base Camp, the most popular destination in the entire Himalayan region.The marvelous views will entice you – with Khumbu Glacier, Everest, Nuptse, andPumori appearing so close! After returning from the Base Camp, we will arriveat Gorakshep and call it a day. Stay overnight at Gorakshep in a lodge.
Day14: Trek from Gorakshep to Kalapatthar to Pheriche
At dawn arrive at the vantage point ofKalapatthar to watch a marvelous sunrise behind the Himalayan Range. At 5,545meters, Kalapatthar has unparalleled panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse,Nuptse, Pumori, and several other peaks. Watch the first streak of sunlight hitthese peaks – and you’ll appreciate beauty in its purest form. Later, hike backto Gorakshep and trek along to Pheriche. Above six hours of trek will bring youto the village of Pheriche where you will sleep in a guesthouse.
Day15: Trek from Pheriche to Namche
Starting from Pheriche, We descend alongthe path to Namche. En route, we will enjoy awesome views of the mountains andpristine environment as we arrive at Namche bazaar. Stay at a guesthouse inNamche for the night.
Day16: Trek from Namche to Lukla
After breakfast, we start the last day ourtrek in the mountains. The seven hour trek to Lukla will be a memorable one,and an easy one too! Descending through villages, forests, and the vast DudhKoshi river, we will arrive at Lukla.
Day17: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu
Early in the morning, we catch a 30-minute flight at Lukla Airport, taking us back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. Or join Everest base camp helicopter tour.
Day18: A Day in Kathmandu
Today you will spend seeing around thecity. Do not miss the World Heritage Sites of the valley, which is one of akind in the entire world – with seven of them within a radius of sevenkilometers. Return to the hotel and pack your bags.
Day19: International DepartureAccordingto your flight schedule, you will be transferred to the airport for your flightahead.
