Itinerary– Everest BaseCamp via Salleri
Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu
Your trip begins when you land at Kathmandu Airport. Here our staff will pick you up and take you to your hotel. You can spend the rest of the day at leisure and later in the day we will provide you a briefing about the trek.
Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Salleri
After breakfast, begin the drive from Kathmandu in an off-road private vehicle. The scenic drive takes around ten hours along a winding hilly road. We will drive through forests, and settlements and at the end of the day arrive at Salleri. Stay overnight in a guesthouse or a lodge.
Day 03: Trek from Salleri to Taksindu
After a leisurely morning, we begin the first day of our trek. The walking duration today is under six hours with lunch and stops along the way. At first we will trek to Phaplu, a village en route to Taksindu. From there we trek for a couple of hours to reach Ringmo and ascend through a trail through the thick forests. Take a break here, and continue on to reach Taksindu at 2,500 meters, where we will stop for the night.
Day 04: Trek from Taksindu to Khari Khola
In the morning visit the Taksindu Monastery before heading off. First we will descend through a forest, rivers, and villages for a couple of hours. Then we will stop for lunch, probably at a place called Nun Thala. After the break we continue the descent until we arrive at a river. From there our path turns uphill where we will cross some more villages and arrive at Khari Khola. Khari Khola is at an altitude of 2,140 meters where we will stay at a lodge or a guesthouse.
Day 05: Trek from Kahri Khola to Puinya
Today we will be reaching Puinya at an altitude of 2,890 meters. The trekking duration is nearly six hours including short rests along the way. After breakfast we begin on an ascending trail crossing several Sherpa villages and forests. Along the way you will see many terraced farms and stone-houses – typical of a trek in high-altitude. You will next come across a narrow canyon and before you know it, you have arrived at the village of Puinya. Stay overnight here is a lodge or a guesthouse.
Day 06: Trek from Piunya to Phakding
As yesterday, the trek today is also approximately six hours. We will be reaching the mountain village of Phakding today. Crossing many bridges of the Dudh Koshi river and its streams, we will arrive at Phakding for the overnight stay. Phakding, at 2,650 meters, is a Sherpa village with spendid views of the Himalayan peaks. Enjoy the stay at Phakding for the trip is going be more exciting onwards.
Day 07: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar
In the morning we will make an early start. The breakfast is going to be quick as we will be traveling to Namche Bazaar, the most prosperous village in Everest. The scenic walk is around seven hours to Namche. After dinner, you will spend the night in a lodge or a guesthouse.
Day 08: Acclimatization at Namche
Take a day of rest at Namche today and enjoy the Sherpa lifestyle. Have a leisurely breakfast amid wonderful views of Himalayan peaks. Later, visit around town and see the lifestyle of Namche. Do not forget to do a short trek as it will help you adapt to the altitude and prepare you for the journey ahead.
Day 09: Trek from Namche to Tengboche
Starting from Namche we first cross a river and trek across an alpine forest of rhododendron. The trek today is approximately five hours including lunch time. After lunch we begin our ascent to the village of Tengboche which houses the biggest monastery in the region. At 3,860 meters, stay overnight at Tengboche in a lodge or a guesthouse.
Day 10: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche
Starting with a trek across a suspension bridge over the river Imja, we move on to Dingboche, our destination for today. We will cross the village of Pangboche along the way. Dingboche is a beautiful little valley with views of Ama Dablam and Lhotse peaks. Stay overnight at Dingboche in a guesthouse.
Day 11: Acclimatize at Dingboche
You will spend the day at Dingboche. First, start with a leisurely breakfast in a wonderful surrounding. Next, relax as you like in this environment so that you will regain some of the lost energy and your body will adapt to the altitude. Do take little hikes around so that your muscles are kept fit for the trek ahead. Stay overnight at a lodge or guesthouse.
Day 12: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche
After breakfast pack your bags and leave Dingboche. Early on, you will have wonderful views of Island Peak, Lobuche, Nuptse, and Taboche peaks. Further, we cross the often un-noticed Thok-La pass before arriving at Lobuche for the night. The trekking duration is five hours today, bringing you to Lobuche at 4,910 meters.
Day 13: Trek from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp to Gorakshep
This is day where you will reach the Everest Base Camp, the most popular destination in the entire Himalayan region. The marvelous views will entice you – with Khumbu Glacier, Everest, Nuptse, and Pumori appearing so close! After returning from the Base Camp, we will arrive at Gorakshep and call it a day. Stay overnight at Gorakshep in a lodge.
Day 14: Trek from Gorakshep to Kalapatthar to Pheriche
At dawn arrive at the vantage point of Kalapatthar to watch a marvelous sunrise behind the Himalayan Range. At 5,545 meters, Kalapatthar has unparalleled panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, and several other peaks. Watch the first streak of sunlight hit these peaks – and you’ll appreciate beauty in its purest form. Later, hike back to Gorakshep and trek along to Pheriche. Above six hours of trek will bring you to the village of Pheriche where you will sleep in a guesthouse.
Day 15: Trek from Pheriche to Namche
Starting from Pheriche, We descend along the path to Namche. En route, we will enjoy awesome views of the mountains and pristine environment as we arrive at Namche bazaar. Stay at a guesthouse in Namche for the night.
Day 16: Trek from Namche to Lukla
After breakfast, we start the last day our trek in the mountains. The seven hour trek to Lukla will be a memorable one, and an easy one too! Descending through villages, forests, and the vast Dudh Koshi river, we will arrive at Lukla.
Day 17: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu
Early in the morning, we catch a 30-minute flight at Lukla Airport, taking us back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. Or join Everest base camp helicopter tour.
Day 18: A Day in Kathmandu
Today you will spend seeing around the city. Do not miss the World Heritage Sites of the valley, which is one of a kind in the entire world – with seven of them within a radius of seven kilometers. Return to the hotel and pack your bags.
Day 19: International Departure According to your flight schedule, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight ahead.
