During the flight, the helicopter is pressurized internally so that passengers will not feel thechange of air thickness of the altitude. Instead, the oxygen inside the helicopterwill be enough to prevent altitude sickness from occurring inside thehelicopter. Thus, there are minimal chances of facing altitude sickness whenyou are flying.
Once you step out,the atmospheric pressure changes drastically. Therefore, the itinerary onlyincludes short landing time in high altitude places such as Kala Patthar. Ifyou spend more time in such high-altitude areas, you might experience the symptomsof altitude sickness.
It is alsosuggested that you do not tire yourself when you are at high altitude places. The helicopters will have ample oxygen tanks for emergency uses. In case ofemergency, oxygen supply can help mild the symptoms of altitude sickness.
